Battlefield Band

Travel forward with Scotland’s past as this brilliant band traces Scots emigration - and plenty of other tales of exploration, evacuation and eviction - with songs and rollicking tunes from their latest CD, "The Road of Tears".

Inspired by their rich heritage of Celtic music and fired by the strength of today's Scottish Cultural scene, which indeed they have done much to create and fuel, Battlefield Band perform music of rare passion and joy. Refusing to be limited musically by suffocating antiquarianism or the 'music business', they have mixed the old songs with new self-penned material, playing them on a unique fusion of ancient and modern instruments - bagpipe, fiddle, synthesiser, guitar, cittern, flute, bodhran and accordion.

Still led by founder Alan Reid (keyboards and vocals), the band also stars California piper extraordinaire Mike Katz, brilliant fiddler Alasdair White, and singer / guitarist Sean O'Donnell. All four are gifted composers and multi-instrumentalists, and a Battlefield Band concert is guaranteed 100% spectacular entertainment value.
