Bill Bourne & Eivør Pálsdóttir

When Bill Bourne first asked me if I'd like to book him and Eivor a few years back I had no idea who Eivor was. I thought she was a guy called Ivor! The moment I heard her voice on the CD Bill produced (Eivor) I knew that this was no Ivor. This was / is an incredible young woman with a voice that could stop traffic.

When she walked into St James Hall, with those big blue eyes, that bright smile and flowing blonde braids she looked like a Viking Princess. Every time I've seen or heard her since then she has taken my breath away. Bill just has to wear shades to avoid the glare radiating from her every pore and lay down his marvellous, labyrinthine guitar licks as she soars and glides and casts her magical musical spells over us all. Their music is rooted in Scandinavian folklore, Celtic balladry, and blues / gospel song. They are folk music troubadours of the highest order, winning the hearts and souls of dancers, World Music aficionados and devout folkies all over the planet with every note.
