"In an increasingly crowded niche, Van Django is a standout act. With a clever mix of contemporary standards, classical ditties, rock homages and solid originals they effortlessly whip the audience into a joyful frenzy. Attending a Van Django concert is the most fun you can have sitting down with your clothes on." - Nick Lehr, DJANGOFEST Director, USA

Renowned for the quality of their musicianship and as great entertainers, Van Django's variety show is a festive Christmas mix of nostalgic favourites, jazz standards, pop tunes, classical elements, and sing-alongs, plus a few surprises - all delivered in swinging gypsy jazz style. Folks of all ages can celebrate the season at this fun and festive yule-time show. Joining Van Django's violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche and bassist Brent Gubbels are harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett, and stellar vocalist Leslie Monteney.

A huge success when they first performed the show at the St James' Hall at Christmas 2013, the band returns to the Rogue this year. Violinist Cameron Wilson says, "everyone had such a great time at last year's premiere concert of Van Django Bells, it was a natural decision to expand the show this season. Folks loved the mix of music and the feel-good vibes - it's a show that just hits all the right notes at Christmas. We're excited to bring the good times to new audiences this year!" Hear everything from the evocative I'll Be Home for Christmas to Let it Snow, Santa Baby and Silver Bells to Ave Maria, a bit of Beethoven, and so much more - with something every ear, heart, and tapping foot will enjoy.

Van Django's music is punchy, driving and rhythmically inventive, combining a wealth of musical influences while maintaining strong roots in the gypsy jazz made famous by Django Reinhardt and the 1930's Quintet of the Hot Club of France. On stage, "they effortlessly whip the audience into a joyful frenzy. Attending a Van Django concert is the most fun you can have sitting down with your clothes on." - Nick Lehr (Djangofest). The perfect answer to winter chill, come share some hot and swinging Christmas cheer with Van Django Bells this year!
