Tuesday June 26, 2007 - Pacific Pickin' Playlist
| This morning I filled-in for Andrea and Arthur Berman on CiTR's Bluegrass and Old Time Music Show, Pacific Pickin'. I usually fill-in for them while they are at the IBMA's in October. Today was different. It was daylight when I set out at 6am. Beautiful, sunny daylight. I was completely disoriented! Upon arrival at the Student Union Building I discovered that I was locked out. The building doesn't open until 6:30. Andrea and Arthur know the secret passageway into the building. I have forgotten it! So I waited till 6:30 and headed up to the studio, where I discovered that the program runs from 6am to 8am, not 6:30 to 8:30. Well, without the secret map that first half hour was moot (as opposed to mute, as there was a rather ordinary CD playing when I arrived.) The other thing I wasn't expecting was to find a new \"show\" from 8am to 9:30am. This was, in fact, a No Show. So I ended up doing a three hour show. When the next DJ arrived at 9:30 he told me that the \"show\" from 8am is in fact a pre-recorded show, with some phantom link on the computer. Education is a wonderful thing. I must try it some time. | ||||
