| This week I played some music by Andy Palacio, the pioneering Garifuna songwriter / musician from Belize. He suffered a massive heart attack yesterday, and the prognosis is not good. I saw him and his great band in Edmonton last Summer. The CD, "Watina", is exceptional. Anyone who likes African or Caribbean music will love it! It's on Cumbancha Records. | ||||
| The rest of the show featured my customary amalgamation of new releases, upcoming concert performers, and a gradual migration from Africa to other world music, into blues, some nostalgia, plenty of Celtic this week, and some topical songwriters to finish. | ||||
