| This week's show featured a further preview of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival (July 18 - 20), including latest releases by Eneida Mart (Guinea Bissau), Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet, Charanga Cakewalk, Michael Franti, and Lau. Also featured the new release by amazing Canadian singer Ndidi Onukwulu, and a look ahead to Ray Bonneville's concert here at the end of June. There was an extended look at The Wilders, who come to town next week. (This section of the show was interrupted by a surprise visit from former Vancouverite Bruce Howden who now lives in Phoenix. He and his wife Brenda dropped in for a chat. Bruce was presenting folk concerts in Phoenix until he was laid low with severe back trouble at Christmas. Happily, he's walking again, so perhaps there'll be more concerts in AZ later this year....) | ||||
