Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

I hope you're keeping warm.

Sorry this is a bit last minute.

Danu are joining the Irish Session tonight (Friday) at the Wolf & Hound at Broadway & Dunbar from 9pm or earlier.

Tomorrow morning I won't be able to get in to the radio station until 9am, so The Edge On Folk will only run from 9am to noon on CITR fm 101.9 and www.citr.ca. It's my annual Christmas Special, so tune in for seasonal music you won't hear in shopping malls. By the way, it seems that the phone hybrid unit at CiTR is broken, so you won't be able to call me on air. You could try 604-822-3017 and I'll try to keep an ear out for the phone, but it's in the adjacent room. I do have access to that at the station.

Danu presents An Nollaig In Eirinn - An Irish Christmas Saturday December 20th 8pm St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue

There are still tickets available for this very special concert. Danu is one of the very best traditional bands in Ireland and they conclude their hugely successful Canadian tour with a gig at the Rogue. Don't miss this if you love Celtic music and you yearn for an evening of real Christmas spirit with a great band, good friends, and plenty of craic, as they say in Waterford.

In Ireland, the festival of Christmas has for centuries been celebrated by traditional Irish music and song. There are many musical tributes that pay homage to early Irish traditions such as The Laden Table, placing a candle in a window, and touring from house to house on St.Stephen's Day. www.danu.net

We'll have a special raffle prize or two as well.

Cheers
Steve

P.S. don't forget the Solstice Lantern Parades around False Creek on Sunday from dusk. Lots of indoor music events, and the incredible fire wheel ceremony on Granville Island mound, plus Morris dancing, wassailing, and all sorts of merriment (even extra terrestrial gypsy swing!)
