The Rogue celebrates our 37th Anniversary this evening, and what better way to do it than to share the evening with maestro Jim Byrnes OC. Yes, James T. Byrnes was awarded the Order of Canada this week in Ottawa! Such a richly deserved honour for the great man. He's bringing his fine band (Simon Kendall on keys, Eric Reed on guitars, Rob Becker on bass, and Geoff Hicks on drums) and the wonderful vocal trio The Sojurners (Marcus Mosely, Khari McLelland, and Will Sanders) to share the stage. Jim actually christened that band all those years ago, and it will be a rare treat to hear their sublime harmonies once again!
The show has been Sold Out for several weeks, but we have had a few cancellations in the last 24 hours, so if you feel like taking a chance on getting in, and you don't have far to travel (so you can get back home and watch the live stream if you don't get a ticket!) there will be a few tickets at the door. They will go to the first people in line. No reservations.
There are still tickets left for the Live Stream, Watch At Home option, but we cut off sales at noon today. (Don't worry, though. We will make the show available later this weekend if you want to see it - or see it again!) It will most assuredly be a memorable concert!
The Rogue is holding a fundraising Toonie Auction this evening. You are encouraged to bring some extra cash and "bid" on the 10 amazing items up for grabs. Each item will have a separate "draw", and there are some great prizes, including:
- unique CD collections,
- a weekend pass for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival (July 19th to 21st),
- a ticket to see Lionel Messi play against the Whitecaps on May 25th,
