NOTE: If you bought a ticket for this show at one of our retail outlets, you may have noticed that due to a programming error the year is listed as 2017. Not to worry - they are valid for December 18th 2016.

Renowned for the quality of their musicianship and as great entertainers, Van Django's variety show is a festive Christmas mix of nostalgic favourites, jazz standards, pop tunes, classical elements, and sing-alongs, plus a few surprises - all delivered in swinging gypsy jazz style. Folks of all ages can celebrate the season at this fun and festive yule-time show. Joining Van Django's violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche and bassist Brent Gubbels are harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett, and stellar vocalist L.J. Mounteney.

A huge success when they performed the show at the St James Hall at Christmas in 2013, 2014 and 2015, the band returns to the Rogue this year! They will come armed with copies of their Christmas CD for those folks wishing to take memories of the concert home with them.

Van Django's music is punchy, driving and rhythmically inventive, combining a wealth of musical influences while maintaining strong roots in the gypsy jazz made famous by Django Reinhardt and the 1930's Quintet of the Hot Club of France. On stage, "they effortlessly whip the audience into a joyful frenzy. Attending a Van Django concert is the most fun you can have sitting down with your clothes on." - Nick Lehr (Djangofest).

The perfect answer to winter chill, come share some hot and swinging Christmas cheer with Van Django Bells this year!

Please note that the admission price for this concert includes a $2 Venue Improvement Fee that we are required by the St. James Square to collect from every patron. Starting in September 2016, the proceeds from this temporary fee will be used for construction projects such as ventilation, flooring and washrooms that will make the hall a nicer place for you to visit in the future. If you wish, you can make a secure donation by clicking on the big blue button at the bottom of the page at www.sjcommunitysquare.org. For information on donating by phone or post, please contact the St. James Square office at 604-739-9373.
