Nominated for the AUSTRALIAN CELTIC MUSIC AWARD for "International Artist of the Year"!
Vancouver is home for Canada's musical gem, Kiérah. A dynamic and bold Celtic fiddle player, Kiérah presents a powerful night of traditional and original music inspired by her Irish/Scottish heritage. In an ever changing music scene, Kierah showcases an infusion of pop and world rhythms taking Celtic music into a new direction. She possesses a remarkable ability to completely captivate and engage the audience, playing straight from her heart.
Back at the St. James Hall for the 4th year in a row, Kiérah will impress with sets from her most recent album Strong Bow as well as old favourites and some new surprises. Recently featured in Irish Music Magazine, Living Tradition Magazine and on CelticRadio.net Strong Bow is receiving rave reviews. It has received nominations by the Toronto Independent Music Awards and the Australian Celtic Music Awards.
Joining Kierah are a stellar cast of musicians: multi- instrumentalist and producer, Adrian Dolan (piano, accordion, viola, mandolin); innovative guitarist Adam Dobres and percussionist Robin Layne (The Paper Boys).
"Kierah's fiddle sets are remarkable feats of imagineering. This is virtuosity with charm, grace and a sly wink". - Cal Koat, World Beat Canada
"Kierah is a rare gem who combines technical skill and stellar musical chops with authentic passion and heartfelt performances" - Celtic Radio, Boston
"Stonemason's Daughter cannot be described as ethereal and sweet: it’s a masterful presentation of how Kiérah commands the fiddle with definition and precision. A powerful listen". - Eileen McCabe, Irish Music Magazine
"A classically infused Irish/Scots melange of excitement and reserve. Stonemason's Daughter is a work of finely wrought conviction and musical pedigree".- John O'Regan, The Living Tradition
"Growing up the youngest of 7 children, Kiérah must have felt the real need to stand out, and stand out she does with her new album. It's not just her technical prowess as a traditional fiddler that makes Stonemason's Daughter note-worthy, it's her touch with the old tunes and her taste for composing new ones". - Devon Leger, Hearth Music
“A factor in Kiérah’s early rise to musical prominence is her sound recognition of the importance of understanding the music, the period it was written in, and discovering the emotions and truth behind the music” – Carol Watson, Fiddler Magazine“Kierah has accomplished more at 18 than most of us could conceive in a lifetime. A phenomenal fiddle player”! – Steve Edge, Rogue Folk Club
