Rough Edges & Ragged Hearts, Linda McRae's highly anticipated fourth solo release doesn't describe the gold and platinum polish enhancing a musical career spanning 25 years. The wonderfully soulful new CD features performances by Gurf Morlix, Ray Bonneville, Doug Cox, Stephen Nikleva, Samantha Parton (Be Good Tanyas), and The Sojourners and affirms Linda's maturing distinction as a quality songwriter and unique performer. It is at once as traditional as a sepia photograph and as current as a viral YouTube song!
Linda earned a Juno nomination and double Platinum triple Gold recording status as bassist and accordionist with Celtic/Roots group Spirit of the West. Departing the band after eight years she resumed her solo career consecutively producing three critically acclaimed recordings: Flying Jenny, produced by Colin Linden, Cryin' Out Loud, produced by Gurf Morlix, and Carve It To The Heart produced by Marc L'Esperance. Linda will be joined by Marc, who produced the new CD as well, and Steve Nikleva.
