Hi everyone
The January issue of the Rogue Folk Review is now available for download.
It contains details of all our January shows, commencing with the Van Django Sextet tomorrow night (Friday) at St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue). Tickets are available online, as well as at Highlife records, Rufus' Guitar Shop, and at the door.
You will also find a list of our future shows, up to the end of April. We don't have any concerts in February. The Olympics are taking care of all our entertainment possibilities / needs. In fact, we are taking a break from February 1st to March 19th.
Our concert production partnership with Shore fm will resume in March. This excellent commercial radio station just (today, in fact) moved to its permanent home on the dial at 104.3 fm. You can check out their programming on their website www.shore104.com (I looked at their Top 104 songs of 2009, and reckon I might have played about 30 of them on The Edge On Folk - a statistic I would find very unlikely to be repeated for any other commercial radio station in these parts. They also have the inimitable Jim Byrnes hosting a hot Blues show every Saturday evening.
On The Edge On Folk this Saturday I'll have some new releases, concert previews, and favourite songs from 2009. Please join me for four hours of the very best in Roots Music from 8am to 12 noon on CiTR fm 101.9 or www.citr.ca
Later on Saturday, Alpha Yaya Diallo launches his great new CD, Imme, at Capilano Performing Arts Theatre for our first Cap Folk & Roots show of 2010. Tickets are available on 604-990-7810
And on Wednesday January 20th we present The Haints Old Time Stringband with special guest Kim Beggs at St. James Hall.
Cheers!
See you at The Rogue!
