Hi everyone

We have just updated the Rogue website with details of our concert calendar for the next few months. We have some amazing shows lined up, in a wide variety of genres, featuring some of the best young talent on the planet. Tickets for these shows are available on the site, and our other ticket outlets (Highlife Records, Rufus' Guitar Shop, and the Rogue Folk sales table) have most of them already, and will have the rest in the next few days.

We resume our 2010 programming with a full weekend of shows at St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue, next week:

Friday March 19th 8pm
T. Nile and Twilight Hotel (co-presented by Shore 104 fm, Vancouver's BEST commercial radio station, playing Roots, Rock & Rhythm, and supporting emerging Canadian talent and the Rogue Folk Club! Yay!! Set your dial to 104.3 fm and treat your ears!)

Vancouver songwriter Tamara Nile brings her hot band and will showcase songs from her new CD, with great support from Winnipeg's Twilight Hotel. This is Canadian Roots Music at its most creative and engaging.

Saturday March 20th 8pm
Carlos del Junco Quartet

Toronto's Cuban-born award winning harmonica wizard Carlos del Junco combines his deep love of the Blues with world music and jazz, and his excellent band always delivers.

Sunday March 21st 8pm
Kate Rusby

English folk singing diva Kate Rusby hails from Barnsley and is Yorkshire through and through. She hasn't played here since 2001. Don't miss this rare chance to hear the most enchanting voice in folk music up close and personal.

Radio Rogue has a brand new playlist up and running. There are over 400 songs, with almost all of them by the performers we have coming up in the next few months. So, if you want to hear music by these amazing artists, just go to our home page and follow the links to Radio Rogue.

On Friday March 12th The Pine Leaf Boys from Louisiana will perform at Capilano Performing Arts Theatre as part of our Cap Folk & Roots Series. We'll have our usual sales table and raffle for that event. Tickets are still available, and we strongly recommend this band. They are some of the finest young Cajun musicians around. The Mississippi Sheiks Tribute concerts on Saturday and Sunday are both sold out. These are VANOC events, so we will not have our sales table and raffle. In fact, I myself could only get a ticket for Saturday's show. Don't fret if you haven't bought a ticket: these shows will be filmed and recorded for posterity - and a possible DVD release later this year.

On Sunday March 14th, don't miss this unique opportunity to see the band described by The Independent newspaper in the U.K. as "the best rock & roll band on the planet" - Mali's Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba. This band has two stunning CDs and make their Vancouver debut on Sunday at 7pm at the City Live Stage on Georgia Street, near the west entrance to the viaduct. It's a VANOC Cultural Olympiad Event, and it's FREE. The same stage hosts Quebec's La Bottine Souriante on Friday March 19th from 5:30 - 7pm. Also free. Then come to St. James Hall for more great Canadian music with T. Nile and Twilight Hotel!

On KCTS (Channel 27 in Vancouver TV) on Thursday March 18th catch the Rounder Records 40th Anniversary Concert at 8pm. Artists performing include Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bela Fleck, Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas, Steve Martin, Irma Thomas, Madeleine Peyroux, and Minnie Driver.

Tune in to The Edge On Folk this Saturday from 8am to noon to hear some new releases, old favourites, and previews of upcoming concerts and festivals. You can listen live on CiTR 101.9 fm, or tune in on the web on www.citr.ca either live or download the podcasts later.
