Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

We just got back into town to find that the Plough concert tonight at the Sun Yat Sen Gardens is not free, as advertized in the Rogue Folk Review. It actually costs $20 to get in. Sorry about the confusion. Entirely my fault. It should be a great show, and the setting - and the weather - are exquisite.

CiTR will broadcast the show live on www.citr.ca (if I can get the internet feed working!) so you can tune in at home - but you'll miss out on the wonderful ambiance of the gardens.

Speaking of CiTR, I'd like to thank Val Cormier for filling in last week on The Edge On Folk. I'm back in the saddle tomorrow, with new releases by the likes of Vancouver's Pacifika, Quebec's De Temps Antan, Mississippi blues icon Charlie Musselwhite, and English guitar god Richard Thompson. Plus previews of all our concerts, and a few songs for Labour Day. Please join me from 8am to 12 noon on CiTR fm 101.9 or www.citr.ca

On Saturday it's the first Contra Dance of the season at St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue) with the Sybaritic String Band. The dance floor has been refinished so this will be your first chance to try it out.

We have our first concert of the season next Thursday, September 9th, with Ellen McIlwaine and Rachelle Van Zanten - two Canadian slide guitar divas - at St. James Hall. It will be a scintillating evening of roots, blues, and more.

All our concert details are online

Have a great holiday weekend!
