2. Old Man Luedecke & Del Barber, Tuesday June 5th, 8pm, St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue
Two of Canada's best young songwriters come to The Rogue next week. Chris Luedecke is not an Old Man at all, although his music is definitely informed by the tradition. He writes with wit and insightful observation about life, love and contemporary mores. He recently released a seven song EP - Sing All About It - collaborating with some friends from Nova Scotia and Ontario. He will have a brand new full-length album out in the fall, too, so will have plenty of new material for this show. His last CD, My Hands Are On Fire, was produced by Tim O'Brien and Steve Dawson. More info www.oldmanluedecke.ca
Del Barber hails from Winnipeg and we first saw him at the Edmonton Folk Festival last summer. Very clever songs, good stage persona, and his shows are a lot of fun! You might have seen him last year the Centennial Theatre, opening for Matt Andersen. He's just released an excellent CD called Headwaters. www.delbarber.com
Tickets are selling fast for this one, so make sure you get yours online or at Highlife or Rufus. It's possible that there may not be any left at the door.... Would be a shame to miss these brilliant songwriters in the best listening room in town.

4. 27th Anniversary Edition of The Edge On Folk, Saturday June 2nd, 8am to noon, on CiTR fm 101.9, www.citr.ca
Twenty Seven Years! Amazing! Just about every Saturday for 27 years, that's the story of almost half my life! This weekend I'll have a few highlights from past years, new releases by Carolina Chocolate Drops, Great Lake Swimmers, Bijou Creole, Imagined Village, Joan Osborne, Rani Arbo, Solas, etc. plus a few surprises. I'll also pay tribute to Doc Watson, such an influential guitarist, who sadly passed away the other day. I hope you can join me for this special show. You can even email me a request if you like, or call in during the show on 604-822-2487. You can tune in live on 101.9fm or www.citr.ca (podcasts will be available later in the day) or on Shaw Cable 88.5fm or Telus TV channel 3717.
