Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

These are exciting times at The Rogue!! We have our biggest-ever concert next week with Taj Mahal at The Chan Centre, and we think it just might be a sell-out! Tickets are going very fast, and there are about to be a series of ads in the papers and on the radio which will boost public awareness of the show. Vancity also have a special deal for their members - linked in to their website, and have posters and a display at their westside branches about the show. It's going to be an incredible concert. More details here ...

Meanwhile, we hope to see you at the following show tomorrow (oops! I guess by the time you read this I mean tonight!)

1. Bill Bourne, Thursday April 18th, 8pm at St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue)

We are delighted to present Multiple Juno Winner Bill Bourne, Canada's irrepressible Renaissance Man of Roots Music! The powerful rhythms and soulful sounds of Bill's music reflect a life on the road which brings elements of world beat, Cajun, Celtic, folk, Latin and more to his unique sound. His work has drawn international acclaim as well as two Canadian Juno awards, and multiple Juno nominations. Bill was raised in a musical family in rural Alberta and was traveling the music circuits at an early age. His music has been a family affair ever since with three generations sharing the stage at various times. Bill's musical abilities include the guitar, fiddle and harmonica supported by his rich blues voice.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Bill is one of Canada's most revered blues artists, transcending genre barriers and pushing the limits of his creativity. From the release of his first album by Radio Canada International in 1982, he has toured the world as a solo performer and with such internationally acclaimed acts as Tannahill Weavers, Bourne & MacLeod, Tri-Continental, Eivor Palsdottir, Lester Quitzau, Madagascar Slim and Bop Ensemble. With 15 albums to his credit, his latest offering, Songs From A Gypsy Caravan, showcases his eclectic sound on its deepest level yet. Come and hear what he's up to now - including some pretty nifty flamenco-style guitar!

Tickets are available online , and also at Highlife Records, Rufus' Guitar Shop, and at the door.

2. International Record Store Day, Saturday April 20th

I had hoped to give you details about CiTR's participation in International Record Store Day on Saturday, but I still haven't heard whether my show is going to be pre-empted or not. So I'll have to send another update on Friday. Sorry.

See you at The Rogue!!
