1. Stephen Fearing, Saturday, May 28th 8pm, St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue

30 years ago he was a driving force behind the nascent Rogue Folk Club with his powerful guitar work, Celtic roots, and stirring songs. A stalwart member of Blackie & The Rodeo Kings and a Juno winning songwriter, Stephen is a real gem. He has released nine albums under his own name, seven with B&RK (a new one is due out this year), and two with Fearing & White. He has received two Juno's, a Canadian Folk Music Award and a West Coast Music Award. He has logged countless miles behind the wheel, been invited onto the main stages of most Canadian roots music festivals and toured just about every region of the country: performing, teaching and producing other artists from coast to coast. 2. Kiérah, Friday, June 3rd 8pm, St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue

Kiérah is a multi award-winning violinist and Celtic fiddler from White Rock. She completed her A.R.C.T. with the Royal Conservatory of Music, receiving one of the highest marks ever given. With an Irish/Scottish heritage, Kiérah's passion, however, is composing and performing traditional and contemporary Celtic fiddle music. An outstanding entertainer, Kiérah captivates her audiences by taking fiddling to a completely different level, demonstrating her mastery of the instrument and radiating her love of the music. She has recorded three albums, with her 3rd - Stonemason’s Daughter - receiving a Canadian Folk Music Award for Young Performer of the Year. She has also written B.C.'s first book of all original fiddle tunes, Kiérah's Collection*. She will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist and producer Adrian Dolan, most notably of The Bills and The Ruth Moody Band, on piano, accordion and mandolin; and innovative guitarist Adam Dobres of The Ruth Moody Band, with his unique and impressive approach to traditional music. www.irishmadness.com

* - it was brought to my attention that Paul Gitlitz published a book of his original fiddle tunes in BC some years ago. As far as I am aware Paul was born outside the province, so Kierah's book would be the first published by someone born and raised in BC. I could be mistaken. It really doesn't matter. Kierah is a supremely talented musician, composer, and teacher - and she's still so young! She and her brilliant accompanists will make this show truly memorable, I guarantee it!

3. Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Wednesday, June 8th 8pm, St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue

Don't miss the Vancouver debut of Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen at The Rogue. Since Frank left the cold climes of Alaska for the bluegrass hotbed of Washington, D.C., he's built a reputation as a monster mandolinist - and become a major festival attraction with his band, Dirty Kitchen. Solivan, with banjoist Mike Munford, 2013 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, award winning guitarist Chris Luquette and bassist Jeremy Middleton, simmer a bluegrass / newgrass stew from instrumental, vocal and songwriting skills so hot, they've been named Washington Area Music Association's Best Bluegrass Band of the Year for four consecutive years. With their last album earning a 2015 GRAMMY Nomination for Best Bluegrass Album, the eagerly anticipated Family, Friends & Heroes was released in March to great critical acclaim. www.dirtykitchenband.com

4. Danny Michel, Friday, June 10th 8pm, St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue

With nominations for three JUNOs, the Polaris Prize, The CBC "Heart Of Gold" and a pile of albums under his belt, Danny Michel is unquestionably one of Canada's finest songwriters. His new CD, Matadora, features an ode to Italian cosmonaut Samantha Cristoforetti - Samantha's In The Sky With Diamonds - which earned him an adoring email sent from the International Space Station! www.dannymichel.com

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival (July 15 - 17, Jericho Beach Park) features a wonderfully eclectic line-up. 

Every year we offer our members the chance to buy Early Bird Weekend Passes to the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. These tickets are at a discounted price and they have to be paid for around a month before the festival. This year the Vancouver Folk Music Festival runs July 15-17 at Jericho Beach Park.

Rogue Folk Club members can purchase Early Bird tickets at a discounted price up to Friday June 3rd on our website or at our events at St. James Hall. Early Bird Weekend tickets from the VFMF website are $155 plus a $7.40 service charge. You can buy them from us for $140 plus that $7.40 service charge, so $147.40 as opposed to $162.40. The price is $147.40 for everyone. If you are a senior (over 65), student or child, it is cheaper to purchase directly from the festival.

Only current Rogue Folk members can purchase tickets so make sure your membership is up to date before trying to purchase your tickets online. The website will only allow you to buy them if your membership is current. You can buy as many tickets as you like for your friends and family.

Please note that the receipt you get for the ticket is NOT the ticket itself and cannot be used to get into the festival. Shortly after the deadline, we will email you your actual ticket in the form of a scanable barcode. You must use this and not the Rogue receipt othewise they will not let you in!
