Hi everyone

Just a quick reminder that we have a great show in store tonight. Eliza Carthy plays at St. James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue at 8pm. There will be tickets available at the door. She is an amazing singer and fiddle player, equally at home performing English traditional music or her own songs and tunes. She's keeping the tradition alive, incorporating styles and instrumentation from the new (Imagined) English village landscape. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see her in Canada. There are two shows at Capilano performing Arts Theatre this weekend, too. Tomorrow it's Portland's Vagabond Opera performing European cabaret music with great theatricality built on a solid foundation of Balkan and Gypsy and other roots music from continental Europe. That's Friday November 6th at 8pm. More info www.vagabondopera.com and then on Sunday 8th, BC's top bluegrass combo, John Reischman & The Jaybirds, plays at Cap. www.thejaybirds.com Tickets for both shows can be obtained from 604-990-7810.

There's a Contra Dance at St. James on Saturday night as well.
