Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

Summer is here and the time is right for Rogueing in the Heat! We have a couple of concerts coming up either side of next weekend which promise to be two of the most memorable shows of 2014! Laura Smith and Tony McManus perform at St. James Hall this Thursday July 10th at 8pm. Then we're off to Island Musicfest in Courtenay over the weekend, where I'll be one of the MCs. Heather McCain will fill in on The Edge On Folk on Saturday on CiTR fm 101.9, Telus TV Channel 7023, and streamed live on www.citr.ca. We return on Monday for our first concert on Granville Island since 1988; Scots pipers Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson make their Rogue debut - I think it's also their BC debut - at The Waterfront Theatre on Monday July 14th at 8pm in a double bill with the wonderful New Zealand / Scots trio Pacific Curls.

The weather continues to make headlines across the nation, with last weekend's Stan Rogers Festival in Canso, NS, cancelled for the first time in its 17 year history due to the hurricane. Yikes! We made a little trip to Kamloops and Summerland last week, and had just checked in to a room by the lake when a huge thunderstorm erupted. We had the best seats in the house as the sun returned during the storm to create two perfect rainbows. What a spectacular sight! After the deluge the neighbouring nature reserve exploded into life with raccoons, beavers, muskrats, redwing blackbirds, mallards and swallows checking the pond to see what might have been churned up!

Now I'm back and have to write a column for the Celtic Connection newspaper before attempting my first blog on the new Mail Chimp mail server which has consolidated our old egroup and the ticket server's mailing list into one place. I should be able to include photos and formatted text - maybe even an online edition fo the Rogue Folk Review - once I've figured out how to use it!

Meanwhile, check out our concert calendar and book your tickets to these two shows: Tony McManus & Laura Smith and Pacific Curls and Ross & JarlathMission Folk Festival tickets are still available at our discount price for the next few days as well. Visit our News Page for details of the new Mailing List and scroll down to the Mission Folk Festival ticket deals.

Stay tuned for more News as soon as I've figured out Mail Chimp!!

Cheers
