Newfoundland's Sherman Downey and the Silver Lining's first release, Honey for Bees, is not just a collection of fun songs about muddy jackets, lost kittens and cheap suits. Beneath the rolling bluegrassy folk pop, there is a certain sweetness to be found.

Since the debut release it's been busy for the band including performances at the Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC, the Juno Celebrations in St. John's, NL and festivals throughout the Atlantic Provinces. Sherman was awarded MusicNL's 'Male Artist of The Year' for 2010 and the band was nominated for ECMA "Rising Star Recording" and "Best Group Recording".

Songs from Honey For Bees have been receiving national rotation on highly revered CBC Radio 2 programs such as 'Canada Live', 'Drive' and 'Deep Roots', and feature-length recordings are available on CBC's Concerts On Demand website. An energetic live show coupled with the band's obvious love of what they do continues to earn them a devout fan base.

Armed with charming melodies, toe-tapping rhythms and a story to tell, Sherman Downey and The Silver Lining will have you singing shamelessly into a brush in front of your mirror.
