Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Get ready for an exciting weekend! We have lined up a unique radio show just for you, a concert that promises a mesmerizing experience, and a vocal workshop to enhance your singing prowess. Don't miss out on all the fun!

1. Radio Waves - Special CiTR Fundrive Edition of The Saturday Edge On Folk, 8am to noon, on www.citr.ca

Tomorrow's show is part of CiTR's Annual Fundrive. The aim is to raise $20,000 to complete the equipment upgrades necessary to keep CiTR broadcasting under-represented music and thoughtful, alternative views. The theme this year is LOVE. In all its glory. Be it love of music, love of alternative radio, love of friends and family with whom you share common goals and dreams, or just love of life with all its crazy and wondrous experiences.

I'm spinning music which made me fall in love with the idea of presenting a show at CiTR, and music which has cemented that love by blowing my mind on a regular basis over the past 39 years of hosting this show. Sandwiched with anecdotes and repeated "spruiking" to try to persuade you to support CiTR on this once per year Fundrive campaign. I hope it works ....

Whether you choose to pledge using the link donatetocitr.ca or just tune in to hear some amazing tunes, and what moved me to choose these songs, I'm sure you'll find some delights - be they familiar to you or not. Please tune me in and turn me on. Again.

2. Windborne Vocal Workshop, Saturday February 3rd, 2-4pm, Room 104, St. James Square (3214 West 10th Avenue)

3. Windborne Concert, Saturday February 3rd, 8pm, Mel Lehan Hall at St. James (3214 West 10th Avenue)

Last year this vocal quartet from New England put on a stunning performance at The Rogue. Their passion for singing is matched by their commitment to campaign for social justice, and to bring traditional - and contemporary - song to new audiences of all ages.
