Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

1. Daimh, Thursday October 31st, 8pm, Mel Lehan Hall at St. James (3214 West 10th Avenue)

Pronounced "dive", this wonderful Celtic Trad band from Scotland (and Cape Breton) made their Rogue debut last year. They were amazing! Singer Ellen MacDonald has a golden voice, singing in Gaelic (their latest CD, Sula, contains emojis to help you understand the songs' themes, if you're not fluent in Gaelic!) Piper Angus MacKenzie hails from Cape Breton, fiddler Alasdair White used to play with Battlefield BandMurdo Cameron plays accordion and mandola, and Ross Martin (guitar) has played here with several other bands as well. Their refreshing approach to traditional music - together with Ellen's exceptional singing - ensure that the future of this captivating musical tradition is in safe hands!

It's Halloween, so why not dress up for the occasion? There will be treats - and prizes for Best Costume!

STOP PRESS: We have an extra special Raffle prize at this show! Michaela Cunningham & Simon Trevelyan run a wonderful new spa on Saltspring Island. They are giving us a Gift Certificate for a stay at Arbutus View as a raffle prize. We have stayed in their home, adjacent to the spa, and toured the facility, which is in woodland above St Mary Lake. They built it themselves from the ground up, and it's amazing! The only way to be in with a chance to win this super prize is to come to the hall, and to hear this wonderful band. Last year the Hall was packed. Many of you came along last time. You know who you are! I'm sure you were mightily impressed. The band - and The Rogue - would be extremely disappointed if you weren't there to see them this time.
