Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Happy St. George's Day everyone!

We had another fabulous show on Easter Monday with The Good Lovelies - even lovelier than ever, with a new bass player, MJ, with her flowing locks and decorative double bass. Thanks also to Paul Lievesley for the loan of the guitar amp. We have such amazing volunteers who do all the set up and tear-down of the Hall and sell tickets and beer and CDs etc. during the show. Thanks to all of them for making our shows possible - and so very sociable and friendly!

1. April In Paris, Friday-Sunday, April 25-27, St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue)
This weekend we present our 8th annual Festival of Gypsy Jazz - April In Paris - at St. James Hall. There are three concerts, each of which will be preceded by free swing dance lessons and each show will also be embellished with performances and dancing from the Dusty Flowerpot CabaretFriday's show (Van Django and Roma Swing Ensemble) and Saturday's show (Deanna Knight & The Hot Club Of Mars, plus burlesquemagic and more!) start at 8pm, with dance lessons from 7:15pm to 7:45pm or so. Sunday's show (Marc Atkinson Trio, Paul Pigat, Company B Jazz Band) starts an hour earlier, with dance lessons from 6:30pm. We will have some French wine and snacks, and there will be prizes for the best (optional) costumes, so if you choose to do so, come dressed to celebrate the fabulous musical legacy of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and the romance of Paris between the wars. Or come as you are! The treats will be in the music, the dancing, the magic, and the joie de vivre that this hugely entertaining and diverse festival conjures up every year at St. James Hall.

There are tickets available for all three shows, and you can download the Festival Brochure, with full details of the festival and the participating bands, here.

2. Radio Rogue
Our streamed broadcast is back on the air 24/7/365 with an ever-expanding playlist comprising upcoming and past Rogue performers, plus a whole lot more. You can access it here

3. Office Move

We are now fully-ensconced in our new office on Granville Island. The address is 1504 Duranleau Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6H 3S4, next door to the main entrance to Theatre Sports (with the amazing silver shoal of fish "sculpture" above the awning. Come up and visit us some time if you're in the vicinity on weekdays. We have a huge archive of recordings and printed materials - most of which are Rogue recordings and promo but there are also heaps of LPs, cassettes, DATs, Mini Discs etc., as well as Festival Programmes and back issues of publications like fRoots (and its predecessor, Southern Rag), Dirty Linen, and Sing Out!

Hope to see you at April In Paris; it will be loads of fun!
