Jocelyn Pettit launches her brilliant new CD, Caravan!

Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

1. Jocelyn Pettit, Saturday November 14th, 8pm, St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue)

Jocelyn Pettit is an extremely gifted fiddler and composer from Squamish. She has just released her 2nd CD, Caravan. She's celebrating its launch with concerts at the Brackendale Art gallery on Friday 13th and at The Rogue the following night. She'll have her usual quartet, plus a few guests including Keona Hammond on flute and Irish guitarist Colm McCarthaigh. It's a really good CD! I'd recommend hearing it LIVE a little earlier in the evening for best results! Say, around 8pm on Saturday for optimum listening - and viewing - pleasure! There are tunes from Scandinavia, Brittany, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton, and quite a few original compositions as well - plus a couple of songs. We take great pride in helping young local musicians by presenting their CD launch concerts, and Jocelyn has long been one of our favourites (she seems to have been around for years, which is amazing since she is still in her teens, I think!) So come on down and hear one of BC's very best young fiddlers strut her stuff at The Rogue! www.jocelynpettit.com

2. Radio Waves

I'll be spinning some more tunes from Jocelyn's new CD, plus a look ahead to upcoming "Rogues" like Cannery Row, Linda McRae, Thad Beckman, Sarah Jane Scouten, Dana Sipos, T. Nile, J.P. Cormier, The Revelers, Le Vent Du Nord, and Danish trio Hoirup / Bugge / Lydom. Tune in to The Edge On Folk on Saturday from 8am to noon on CiTR fm 101.9 and www.citr.ca

3. Celtic Connection newspaper

The November issue is now on the streets. Check out my latest article - including a review of last month's Celtic Colours festival in Cape Breton. Copies will be available at St. James Hall this weekend, and online on www.celtic-connection.com
